Enjoy a leisurely non-competitive ride along the entire length of the finished Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. This will be an out and back 25 mile bike ride from the Shippensburg Station past the trailhead in Newville to the trail end at Greenhill Road and back to the Shippensburg Station. Rest stops will be available along the way with a snack in Newville. If you want a slightly shorter ride you can turn around at the Newville trailhead for a 20 mile ride.1/2 hour time slots - maximum of 15 per 1/2 hourTo maintain social distancing everyone must pre-register for a half hour time slot with a maximum of 15 bikers per half hour, 75 total for the TrailFest. Please try to pick up your bib number and start in that 1/2 hour. Each rider will start one at a time as they are ready. Time slots for the bike will start at 3pm - 3:30pm with the last slot 5:00pm - 5:30pm. Everyone must be off the course by sunset at 7:35.Cumberland Valley TrailFestThis year's Cumberland Valley TrailFest will have some changes because of the Covid-19 restrictions. We will not be holding the BrewFest, Ramble and 1-mile kids run. The 10k & 5k race and the 25 mile bike ride will be held with a limited field size and in conjunction with Ship First Fridays. Ship First Fridays will include food trucks, beer garden and live music. The music is free, beer, wine and food is available for purchase. All events will be held at the Shippensburg Station located at the corner of Fort and Earl Streets in Shippensburg.

Unfortunately the BrewFest hosted by the Shippensburg Historical Society (SHS) will not be held this year. The TrailFest races will instead be held in conjunction with Ship First Fridays. We’ll be balancing socialization with social distancing so we can all have a great time while feeling safe. Ship First Fridays will have food trucks, a beer garden and live music from 4pm to 9pm

Social distancing and MasksWhen you come out to support CVRTC and our local businesses at First Fridays, we ask that you practice social distancing. Tables and vendors will be spread out and attendees will be required to wear a protective mask if near others except when eating or drinking. Please where a mask at the registration table to protect our volunteers. You are not required to wear a mask while running or biking.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cumberland Valley Rail-to-Trails Council (CVRTC) and will be used for maintaining the current trail along with extending the trail into Shippensburg and Carlisle.

Course |
25 Mile out and back rail trail course.
The course travels out and back on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail from from the Shippensburg Station past the trailhead in Newville to the trail end at Greenhill Road and back to the Shippensburg Station. The course is entirely on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. The Rail Trail runs thru beautiful farmland and is mostly a smooth, crushed stone surface with 1 mile of pavement at the start and finish and 1/2 mile of pavement at the turnaround.
Water will be available in Oakville (6.2 miles & 13.8 miles) and in Newville.
Restrooms will be available at the start, in the Shippensburg Township Park, in Oakville (1/4 mile off of the trail at the North Newton Township Park) and at the Trailhead Newville.

T-Shirts availableEveryone registered by August 23 for the Race, Run or Ride will receive either a cotton t-shirt or a tech shirt upgrade. After August 23 tech shirts will not be available to order. Extra cotton t-shirts will be available as first come first served until they are gone. This years shirt color will be Antique Sapphire.

Race day registration and bib pickup will begin at 4:30 PM at the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail, 51 E Fort St, Shippensburg, PA. CVRTC is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable corporation dedicated to conservation, historic preservation, recreation and alternative transportation in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania through the development of multi-use trails along former railroad corridors and other areas. CVRTC owns and maintains the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail that runs 13 miles from Shippensburg to noth west of Newville and is working on extending the trail to Carlisle and south of Shippensburg.
