27th Annual Fall Down on the Trail HikeThis is your opportunity to hike the trail from the Newville Trailhead to Ship Station (10 Miles) and not have to arrange a ride back. Transportation will be provided from Ship Station to Newville and you hike back. Pre-Registration Required by 9/22 TransportationYou must pre-register for the Hike by the end of the day on Sunday, September 22 so we can arrange transportation for you to Newville. Transportation will leave Saturday morning from Ship Station in Shippensburg at 8:30 AM. Registration opens at 8 AM at Ship Station. If you register on the event day you will have to arrange you own transportation.
Water Station and RestroomsWater will be available in Oakville (4 miles). There will be a water Station set up for the half marathon at Duncan Rd (6.4 Miles) that you may use as long as you are maintaining at 25 min/mile pace.
Restrooms will be available at the start in Newville, in Oakville (1/4 mile off of the trail at the North Newton Township Park), the Shippensburg Township Park and at the end of the ramble at Ship Station.Cumberland Valley TrailFestJoin the Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails Council for the 18th annual TrailFest. All events will be held at Shippensburg Station located at the corner of Fort and Earl Streets in Shippensburg.
Friday Evening PickupCome to Shippenburg First Fridays on Friday evening, October 4 from 4:30 to 8:00 pm to pickup you your race number and shirt (if ordered). Shippenburg First Fridays is located at the same location as the TrailFest start and finish: Shippensburg Station, 51 E Fort Street, Shippensburg, PA, 17257. This will also be the last chance to pre-register and save $10 over the same day price. If you pick up your number on Friday you do not have to check in on Saturday morning. Just pin on your race number, put your timing chip on your shoe, and proceed directly to the start line a few minutes before your event time.
Shippenburg First Fridays also has live music, food trucks and a beer garden.

Maxie's Brew House, Castlerigg Wine, and Screaming Bambino Cellars will be providing craft beer, craft soda, cider and wine at the TrailFest. Individual glasses are available for $6. You will receive one free drink with any event registration.
The beer garden will be open from 11:00 am to 4 pm.

10 Mile point to point rail trail course.
The course starts at the Newville trail head of the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail and finishes at the Shippensburg Station trail head in downtown Shippensburg. The course is entirely on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. The Rail Trail runs thru beautiful farmland and is mostly a smooth, crushed stone surface with 1/4 mile of pavement at the start and 1 mile of pavement at the finish.

Guaranteed t-shirt deadline September 22Everyone registered by September 22 for the 5k, Half Marathon, Ride or Hike will receive either a cotton t-shirt or a tech shirt upgrade. Shirts will be availabe for purchase for the 1 mile. After September 22 tech shirts will not be available to order. Extra cotton t-shirts will be available as first come first served until they are gone.

From the north use I-81 exit 29, turn right onto Walnut Bottom Rd. Left onto King Street (US 11). Go 3/4 mile. Turn right onto Earl Street. 3 blocks to the trail.
From the south use I-81 exit 24, turn left onto Olde Scotland Rd. Left onto Fayette Street. Right onto King Street (US 11). 1/4 mile. Turn right onto Earl Street. 3 blocks to the trail.

This event is hosted by and proceeds benefit the Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails Council, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
CVRTC is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable corporation dedicated to conservation, historic preservation, recreation and alternative transportation in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania through the development of multi-use trails along former railroad corridors and other areas. CVRTC owns and maintains the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail that runs 13 miles from Shippensburg to noth west of Newville and is working on extending the trail to Carlisle and south of Shippensburg.
